# One GLP-1 tracker for whatever you're prescribed

> A GLP-1 tracker for weekly shots and daily pills: log doses and sites, note symptoms, follow your weight trend and take a clear record to every appointment.

Canonical page: https://handlehealth.co/glp-1-tracker · Category: Trackers · Last checked against sources: 2026-09-24

Whether you use a weekly pen or a daily tablet, a GLP-1 tracker keeps the facts of your treatment in one place: each dose and where it went, how you felt, what you ate and drank, and which way your weight is heading. Handle does this for every GLP-1 medicine, with free core tracking in its iPhone app, and it leaves every dosing decision to your prescriber.

## In short

- A GLP-1 tracker is a plain record of your treatment: each dose and when you took it, the injection site, how you felt, your weight as a trend, and a rough picture of your eating and drinking.
- It has to fit your medicine's rhythm, from once-a-week pens such as Ozempic and Mounjaro to once-a-day injections and tablets such as Saxenda, Rybelsus, the Wegovy pill and Foundayo.[1][4][9][3][2][6]
- In most of these labels, stomach side effects such as nausea were reported most often while doses were being stepped up, so the weeks after a step up deserve the closest notes.[1][2][5][6]
- Handle keeps that whole record free of charge, whether your medicine is listed by name or added as "Something else", with a short daily check-in and no ads, streaks or scores.
- Handle is free to download on the App Store for iPhone.

## What to put in a GLP-1 tracker, and why

Six things cover almost everything your prescriber will ask about, and all of them are hard to recall accurately a month later.

- **The dose you actually took.** How much, which day, what time, next to the plan on your prescription. A late or missed dose goes on the record as it happened: useful information, not a black mark.
- **Where you injected.** Injected GLP-1 labels ask you to rotate injection sites; Wegovy's and Mounjaro's, for example, say to rotate with each dose.[2][4] A log makes rotating easy to follow.
- **How you feel, especially after a change.** Nausea, diarrhea, constipation and appetite, above all in the first weeks on a new strength.[1][2] Our [GLP-1 side effects guide](https://handlehealth.co/glp-1-side-effects) covers what's common.
- **Your weight, as a weekly trend.** Single readings swing with water from day to day; a weekly average shows the direction.
- **Food, fluids and protein.** Appetite often drops, and the labels warn that fluid lost through vomiting or diarrhea can lead to kidney problems.[1][4]
- **Anything that changed.** A new strength, pen or medicine, or a planned procedure. The labels ask you to tell your healthcare providers you take a GLP-1 before any planned surgery or procedure.[1][4]

## GLP-1 medicines and how each is taken

Schedules and routes from each medicine's US prescribing information. A tracker needs to know the rhythm; the amount is always your prescriber's call.

*The three semaglutide tablets are taken on an empty stomach with a small amount of water and a wait before eating; Foundayo has no such restriction.[2][3][6] Novo Nordisk is discontinuing Saxenda in the US, with last shipments due in late January 2027.[10] For what each medicine is approved for, see [GLP-1 medications compared](https://handlehealth.co/glp-1-medications).*

### Every schedule, one simple log (in Handle)

Save your plan once, with the medicine, the amount your prescriber set and the schedule, and each dose becomes a quick confirmation. Weekly pens, daily injections and morning tablets are all logged the same way, with the injection site added when there is one.

- Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound and more, ready to pick by name
- Anything else your prescriber uses, added under "Something else"
- Weekly, daily or twice-daily plans, injected or oral
- Entries can be added afterwards, up to 30 days back

## GLP-1 tracker guides for each medicine

Each guide covers one medicine's label facts and how to record it in Handle.

- **[Mounjaro tracker](https://handlehealth.co/mounjaro-tracker)** Doses, pens and injection sites for Mounjaro, with notes for readers in the UK.
- **[Zepbound tracker](https://handlehealth.co/zepbound-tracker)** Recording Zepbound doses, sites and side effects, and following your weight trend.
- **[Ozempic tracker](https://handlehealth.co/ozempic-tracker)** The weekly Ozempic pen, and how to record the newer Ozempic tablets.
- **[Wegovy tracker](https://handlehealth.co/wegovy-tracker)** Weekly Wegovy pens and the daily Wegovy pill, kept on one record.
- **[Foundayo tracker](https://handlehealth.co/foundayo-tracker)** Lilly's daily GLP-1 tablet, added to Handle by name, amount and schedule.
- **[Tirzepatide tracker](https://handlehealth.co/tirzepatide-tracker)** For anyone who knows their medicine by the molecule rather than the brand.
- **[Semaglutide tracker](https://handlehealth.co/semaglutide-tracker)** Every semaglutide product, pen or tablet, and what to write down for each.

## How to choose a GLP-1 tracker app

No single app suits everyone. These questions show quickly whether one fits the way you're treated.

- **Does it handle your schedule?** Weekly, daily or twice-daily, injections and tablets, and both medicines on one record if you ever switch.
- **Does it record what happened?** Late and missed doses, and yesterday's entry added later with its real date.
- **Is symptom logging quick?** A short check-in you keep doing for months beats a detailed form you drop after a fortnight.
- **Does it stay out of scoring?** A treatment record is not a test: look for weight as a weekly trend, with no streaks, badges or daily grades.
- **Does it leave dosing to your prescriber?** It should record the plan your prescriber set. Suggested dose changes and converted amounts are clinical decisions, not app features.
- **Can you share it?** A clear summary for appointments beats a year of data nobody else can read.
- **Is it clear about money and data?** Check what's free, whether there are ads and what the privacy label says before you commit months of entries.

Comparing specific apps? Our [Shotsy alternative](https://handlehealth.co/shotsy-alternative), [MeAgain alternative](https://handlehealth.co/meagain-alternative) and [MyFitnessPal alternative](https://handlehealth.co/myfitnesspal-alternative) guides set out what each app offers, dated and sourced.

## Is there a free GLP-1 tracker?

Yes. Everything a complete record needs is in Handle's free plan: your plan and every dose, injection sites, the daily check-in, weight, food, drinks, activity and the Journey charts, with no ads. Premium features, an optional subscription in the iPhone app, add an estimated level curve, a shareable consultation report, food photo scanning and iOS widgets.

To see how that compares with other popular apps, feature by feature, read [what a free GLP-1 tracker should include](https://handlehealth.co/free-glp-1-tracker).

### A check-in short enough to keep doing (in Handle)

Nausea is asked every day. Switch on the others that matter to you, such as diarrhea, constipation, hunger, [food noise](https://handlehealth.co/food-noise) or heartburn, and add up to six tracked symptoms, including one in your own words. The card stays the same length whatever you answer. More in our [GLP-1 side effect tracker](https://handlehealth.co/glp-1-side-effect-tracker) guide.

A few answers, severe nausea among them, come with a plain next step, such as getting in touch with your care team. That is as far as it goes: Handle never diagnoses and is not a monitoring or emergency service, so if you feel very unwell, call your clinician or emergency services.

- Switch symptoms on or off whenever you like
- A private note for each day that nothing reads
- A missed day can be filled in for up to 30 days

## GLP-1 tracking spreadsheet, paper log or app?

All three can work. The difference is how much effort each takes to keep going, and what you can do with the record at your next appointment.

| | Paper log | Spreadsheet | Handle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setting up | A notebook and a pen | Build your own columns | Pick your medicine; the schedule is prefilled |
| Logging a dose | Write it out each time | Type a new row | Confirm the dose, tap the site |
| Reminders | None | Only ones you set up yourself | Dose and check-in reminders in the iPhone app |
| A forgotten entry | Squeeze it in | Insert a row | Add it up to 30 days back, real date kept |
| Weight | A column of numbers | A chart, if you make one | Weekly averages, charted |
| At the appointment | Hand over the notebook | Email or print a file | Consultation report link (Premium) |
| Cost | A notebook | Free | Free; optional Premium subscription in the iPhone app |

### If you'd rather keep a paper log

Paper works if you'll keep it up. Use one line per dose: the date and time, the medicine and amount as prescribed, the injection site, any symptoms, your weight if you weighed, and a short note. Our [free printable GLP-1 tracker](https://handlehealth.co/printable-glp-1-tracker) sets out those columns, ready to print or save as a PDF. What paper can't do is chart your weight or keep a late entry honest about its date.

## How to track GLP-1 progress

Progress on a GLP-1 is more than one number on a scale.

1. **Read your weight weekly, not daily** Weigh when it suits you; Handle turns readings into weekly averages and never nudges you onto the scale.
2. **Put every change on the record** When your prescriber changes your strength or medicine, update your plan so the change sits in your history.
3. **Keep a light record of how you feel** A quick daily check-in builds a week-by-week picture to talk through at your review.
4. **Glance at what you eat and drink** Protein and fluid totals for any day, with a target only if your clinician set one. More in [tracking food on a GLP-1](https://handlehealth.co/glp-1-food-tracker).
5. **Review it together** Bring the record to each appointment; the consultation report, a Premium feature, gathers it into one summary.

### Your weeks, laid out side by side (in Handle)

Journey lays out the period you choose on one timeline: weight as weekly averages, your dose as a step line underneath, then how you felt, your food and drink, and your training. Handle lines them up and stops there; reading them is for you and your prescriber.

- Weight on any day you like, with no reminders to weigh
- Strength and cardio sessions kept as separate counts
- Protein and fluid totals; targets only if your clinician set them

## A GLP-1 tracker built for iPhone

Handle is an iPhone app, free to download from the App Store.

There are no ads, your personal information isn't sold, and Handle doesn't pull health data from your phone, watch or other apps. If you ever want to leave, you can delete your account and everything in it. Call it a shot or a jab: our [weight-loss injection tracker](https://handlehealth.co/weight-loss-injection-tracker) guide uses both.

### A summary your clinician can take in quickly (Handle Premium)

When a review is coming up, the consultation report gathers your medication history (switches included), weight history, symptom summaries, nutrition and activity in one place, with room for a note on what you want to raise. Our guide to [preparing for a GLP-1 appointment](https://handlehealth.co/glp-1-doctor-appointment) has more.

- Sent as a secure link you can switch off at any time
- Daily notes stay private and are left out
- Your clinician can read it without an account

> **Handle records; your prescriber decides**
> Handle holds two things: the plan your prescriber wrote and the doses you really took. It has no dose calculators and never proposes a different amount, a new schedule or a catch-up. For a missed dose, each medicine's instructions carry their own rule, and your prescriber or pharmacist can explain it.

## Questions people ask

### How do I choose a GLP-1 tracker app?

Pick one that fits your medicine and that you will actually keep using. Check that it supports your schedule, records injection sites, keeps symptom logging short, shows weight as a trend and turns into a summary your prescriber can read. Handle does all of that without ads, scores or dose advice.

### Is there a GLP-1 tracker for Android?

Handle is an iPhone app; an Android app is not offered. The comparison above lists alternatives for other devices.

### How do I track my progress on a GLP-1?

Look at weekly weight averages rather than single weigh-ins, keep a short record of how you feel, glance at protein and fluid totals, and note every change your prescriber makes. Then go through it together at appointments. Handle's Journey screen lays these out side by side over the period you choose.

### Can I track GLP-1 pills like the Wegovy pill or Foundayo?

Yes. Rybelsus is listed by name. Newer tablets such as the Wegovy pill, Ozempic tablets and Foundayo can be added under "Something else" with the name, the prescribed amount and a daily schedule. Tablets are logged without an injection site; the check-in, weight, food, Journey and the consultation report work the same way.

### Can I track a GLP-1 that isn't on Handle's list?

Yes. Choose "Something else" and enter the medicine's name, amount and schedule as your prescriber wrote them. Handle keeps what you enter; it doesn't convert, calculate or check amounts. If anything about your prescription is unclear, ask your prescriber or pharmacist.

### Does Handle sync with Apple Health or a smartwatch?

No. Handle takes nothing from your phone, watch or other health apps, so every entry in your record is one you chose to make. That keeps it easy to check and easy to remove: you can delete your account and all of its data at any time.

### Will Handle ever suggest a dose change?

Handle won't. The labels begin low and step up gradually, and your prescriber sets the steps. Handle writes down the plan they give you and the doses you take, and leaves every change to them. If you're unsure what comes next, bring it to your next appointment.

## About Handle

Handle is a GLP-1 treatment companion. It keeps your dose record, a short daily check-in, weight, food, drinks and activity in one calm place, and turns them into a summary you can choose to share with your clinician.

Handle supports recording and conversations with your care team. It does not diagnose, and it never tells you to start, change, skip or stop a dose. This page is general information, not medical advice. Always follow your prescriber and your medicine's instructions for use.
