How we write

Our editorial policy

Handle’s guides exist to help people on GLP-1 medicines understand their treatment and keep a clear record for their care team. This is how we research, write, check and correct them.

Primary sources for every figure

Every number and label fact on a Handle guide is cited to a primary source: the current U.S. prescribing information on DailyMed, the trial’s journal publication, or a regulator or health service such as the FDA, MHRA, EMA, NICE or the NHS. Trial results name the trial, the dose, the length of follow-up and how the result was analysed, and results from different trials are not presented as a head-to-head comparison.

Each guide shows the date its facts were last checked. Prescribing information changes, and we re-check a guide when the label it relies on changes.

What we never publish

  • Dose advice of any kind: when to start, increase, decrease, hold, skip, stop, restart or catch up a dose; titration timetables; unit, millilitre or pen-click conversions; microdosing.
  • Missed-dose instructions. Each medicine's own instructions differ, and your prescriber or pharmacist applies them.
  • Where or how to buy a medicine, or how to get one without a prescription.
  • Ratings, reviews, testimonials, user numbers or endorsements that do not exist.
  • Before-and-after pictures, streaks or scores, or weight-loss promises.
  • Claims that one chart explains another — for example that a symptom follows your medication level.

How guides are written and reviewed

Guides are researched and drafted by the Handle team with the help of AI tools, from primary sources gathered for each topic, and every figure is checked against the source it cites before publishing.

When a clinician has reviewed a guide, their name, credentials and the review date appear on that guide. We only say a page was reviewed when it was.

Comparisons with other apps

We make Handle, so we have an interest in comparisons with other apps. We try to be fair: facts about another app come from its own website, help pages or App Store listing, with the date we checked them, and we say where another app may suit someone better. Apps change quickly — if something we say about your app is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Independence

Handle has no advertising on this site, publishes no sponsored content and uses no affiliate links. The only product these guides promote is Handle itself.

Corrections

If you find an error, email [email protected] with the page address. We correct factual errors promptly and update the page’s checked date.

Handle’s guides are general information, not medical advice. Always follow your prescriber and your medicine’s instructions for use.
