In short

  • You can track a GLP-1 medicine well for free. The essentials are the dose you took and when, where you injected, how you felt, your weight trend, and roughly what you ate and drank.
  • Handle's free plan covers all of those for every major GLP-1 medicine — weekly or daily, injected or oral — with no ads and no streaks.1
  • Handle Premium adds an estimated medication-level curve, a consultation report you can share with your clinician, food photo scanning and iOS widgets. You never need it to keep a complete record.
  • Among popular apps as of September 2026, Shotsy, MeAgain and Glapp keep core shot logging free, Noom added a free GLP-1 companion in June 2026, and Lose It! puts GLP-1 tracking behind Premium.2,4,6,7,8

What a free GLP-1 tracker should do

Before you choose any app, free or paid, check it can do these without a paywall. They are what make a record useful to you and to your prescriber.

  • Log each dose as taken. Amount, date and time, against the plan your prescriber set — including late or missed weeks.
  • Record the injection site. GLP-1 labels ask you to rotate sites, and a record is the easiest way to do it.
  • Handle weekly and daily medicines. Pills such as the Wegovy pill and Foundayo are taken daily; some older medicines are taken twice a day.
  • Capture side effects quickly. A short daily check-in beats a long form you stop filling in by week three.
  • Show your weight as a trend. Weekly averages, not a daily verdict.
  • Keep food, fluids and protein nearby. Appetite changes on GLP-1s, and fluids matter when your stomach is unsettled.
  • Let you log it later. Busy weeks happen. You should be able to add yesterday's dose without losing the true date.

Everything injection day needs

Your plan is already filled in, so logging a dose is a tap to confirm and a tap for the site. Handle shows where you injected last time, which makes rotating sites easy.

  • Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, Rybelsus, Trulicity, Victoza and Saxenda listed by name
  • Any other medicine, including newer pills, recorded under its own name and schedule
  • Forgot? Add it later, and the record keeps the real date

Lose It! says GLP-1 tracking requires Premium.7 MyFitnessPal offers GLP-1 dose logging in the US (iOS and Android) and Canada (iOS), with the app set to English; its help article does not say which tier includes it.9 "Not described" means we found no mention in the developer's own materials — not that the feature is missing.

A check-in that stays short

Nausea every day, plus the symptoms you choose. The card is the same few questions whatever you answer, so it never turns into a chore.

Some answers, such as severe nausea, come with a clear next step, like contacting your care team. Handle never diagnoses and is not a monitoring or emergency service, so for anything severe, contact your clinician or emergency services directly.

  • Switch symptoms on and off at any time
  • Add up to six extra, or one in your own words
  • A private daily note nothing else reads

What "free" usually means in a health app

Free apps are paid for somehow. Often it is an upgrade that unlocks the useful part; sometimes it is advertising. MyFitnessPal, for example, lists ad-free use as one of the things Premium adds.10

Handle has no advertising on any plan, does not sell personal information, and does not read health data from your phone, watch or other apps.1 Whatever app you choose, look at its App Store privacy label, especially the section called "Data Used to Track You".

See how the weeks add up

Journey charts your weight as weekly averages with your dose as a step line beneath it, next to how you felt, what you ate and your training. It shows them side by side and makes no claims about cause.

When Premium is worth it — and when it isn't

  • Worth it if you want to hand your prescriber a clear consultation report before appointments, see an estimated level curve for your week, or log meals from a photo.
  • Not needed if you mainly want a reliable dose, site and symptom log with your weight and food beside it. The free plan does all of that, indefinitely.

A report your prescriber can read

Turn your record into a consultation report: medication history including any switches, weight, symptom summaries, nutrition and activity, plus your note about what you want to discuss. Share a secure link and revoke it whenever you want.

  • Your private daily notes are never included
  • Your clinician needs no account

Premium is an optional subscription in the iPhone app.
